Our Story

I was born in 1976 in Mesopotamia, Iraq, 50 km to south-west of Nippur, the city that was the special seat of the worship of the Sumerian god Enlil, the "Lord Wind", ruler of the cosmos. Whereas my father was born near Nippur 30 years prior. He grew up in its vicinity, and he was telling stories of traditions and ancestors, stories of courage, generosity, and chivalry. His voice fell silent in 2020, but his enthusiasm for traditions and antiquity ignited a fire in my heart that lives on to this moment.

As a child, I had siblings, many cousins, and lots of playtime. But I also had a passion for anthropology and the origin of human civilization.

I came to the Czech Republic in September 2006, and because of circumstances out of my control, I couldn’t go back home. So I stayed in Prague, made lots of friends, had a good job, and then met a sweet woman. We lived together, I started to learn Czech, and in 2015 I became a Czech citizen. I knew then that I had found a new home. I embraced my new life and have lived happily since.

Mezopotámie Tours™ was born from this deep fascination with the origins of human civilization and a desire to share the timeless beauty of this cradle of history with the world. What began as a personal journey to uncover the ancient roots of our shared past has evolved into a mission to connect enthusiasts with the place where humanity first began to write its story.
